It is hard to believe that Christmas is a month away.
I have a love/hate relationship with the holidays. I love the idea of the holidays -- the pretty trees, the white lights, the caroles.
Then there is all the stress of the holiday -- dealing with the rush of the crowds, juggling family. All I end up doing is disappointing someone. Nothing to make you feel so good about the holiday as breaking your mother's heart over the phone . . . again. (Our conversations always make me feel like such a great daughter.)
So, who designated this as the most wonderful time of the year? Was it the same people who said that high school would be the best time of your life? ('Cause goodness knows I hope that wasn't true.) I think to be arbitrary I am going to pick Memorial Day as the best time of the year. You might laugh, but Memorial Day has alot going for it. It is the first work holiday of the year (excluding New Years Day). It is the start of the summer season which means summer vacation. (Whoo hoo!) No travelling to this house and then that house is expected, so no one gets disappointed. The weather is usually nice, but if it is too hot or rainy, there are tons of blockbuster movies to see in the theaters.
Yes, I like Memorial Day. It is my write-in candidate for most wonderful time of the year.

I second the vote!
Heehee. I knew you would, especially after the week you've had. :-)
So true...
Wow, I thought I was the only one who loathed the holiday! You should create a wonderful daughter club because I'm always making my mother cry.
