Work Wish List

Goodness knows that I shouldn't complain. I do work at one of the most employee-friendly companies around.

But of course, like everyone else, give me an inch, and I want more. Just a few items that would make my day better:

  • a couch, loveseat, heck even a cot in my office. For those days, when you just can't hold your head up anymore. My desk just isn't that comfortable. Give me a 15 minute nap, and I swear I would be more productive for the rest of the day. Heck, I would even work a longer day, if I could take Fridays off.

  • a treadmill in my office. Okay, this one might sound extreme, especially considering that we have a gym on site. But I don't want to go to the gym or walk around in the 100 degree heat. I just want a good way to stretch my legs for 5 or 10 minutes every hour. Doing laps around the hallways is getting me strange looks. (Not that I didn't get those before. :-).

  • a lock for my door. Again, probably an extreme request since most people now-a-days don't even have offices with doors. But when I post Do not Disturb, that doesn't mean knock and walk in.

That's my short pet-peeves for this week list. What would you ask for if you could?

I guess I'm lucky... I have a lock :) Treadmill would be nice, though. Something to do during the conference calls when I'm on mute...
