And Where Am I Supposed to Sleep?

I love my cats. I really do, but sometimes, they make it hard. We never should have let them sleep on the bed. But they're so cute and they look at you with those sad eyes. I am such a sucker.

Now, if we try to lock them out of the room, Monty scrapes the door, and Zoey tries to push the door open. If that doesn't work, she meows and meows and meows. One night, she meowed for an hour until I finally got up and let her in.

For some reason, they usually sleep on my side of the bed. I'd like to think it is because they love me more, but I think the real reason is because they have more space on my side. Zoey sleeps at my feet, and Monty sleeps in the crook of my legs. For small cats, they take up alot of space. Sometimes I wake up and I haven't moved in hours.

If I get up in the middle of the night, Monty is instantly awake. As soon as I get to bed, he wants to be let under the covers so he can make biscuits on me. It's like he needs reassurance or something. I wouldn't mind if I wasn't trying to sleep while his razor sharp claws pierce my arm. If I don't let him under the covers, then I spend half an hour fighting with him. Monty jumps on the bed. I push him off. Up, down. Up, down. On and on and on. I wonder where he gets his stubborness from? ;-)

Lucky for them that I love them so much.

I wouldn't be able to resist those guys either! Monty and Zoey are so precious. I'm sure another reason they like to sleep with you is because the guys are more likely to push them off the bed, where we are suckers and can't do it ;-)

Plus they really love you! Whoever said cats are stupid animals never had them as pets before. They may be lazy, and can act stupid at times, but they really know what's going on.

Khar'pern likes to knead on my arm, and yeah, those claws hurt. I've learned to wear long sleeves to sleep in the winter, and in the summer, I pull the sheet over my arm before she starts. That seems to help reduce the puncture wounds....
