While gift-bagging a birthday present for a friend (you know who you are :-), I decided that I have a love/hate relationship with gift bags.
LOVE: Reduces waste in the landfills.
HATE: Where am I going to store all these bags?!?!?!
LOVE: You can recycle them.
HATE: What is gift-bag recycle etiquette? Do you stop using them when they look too battered and bruised? When they are torn? Remember I come from a family who recycled the same Christmas wrapping paper for YEARS! I finally had to tear it to get them to buy some new paper.
LOVE: You can wrap a gift so quickly!
HATE: What are you supposed to do with the stupid tissue paper? Do you stuff it in the bag? Do you wad it up? Can you recycle the tissue paper?
So many complex questions! My brain hurts.

Haha... I've been getting into reusing gift bags a lot recently! I think its OK to use them until they're really in bad shape.
Now the tissue paper is another story. I always end up ripping it. Rick can wrap nicely (of course!). He wraps the gift and puts it in the bag. Then he takes the extra tissue and stuff it in the top. It looks pretty nice! Of course better than when I try.
