I remember being a kid and watching my dad become "uncool." In his early 30s, he listened to the same music as I did. Watched the same shows. Was up with popular culture. Then slowly, I noticed that he started listening to classical music, didn't want to watch the brain candy on TV, etc.
Well, I must be getting old because things I hated for years, I now suddenly like. For example, I crave sweet potatoes and dried cranberries. I love watching and reading about events and people in history. And I have grown to like opera!
I guess those are okay changes of getting older. But if I start talking for hours about every little ache and pain, someone take me out in the street and shoot me.

Mmm... sweet potatoes! I've just gotten the taste for bananas, which is what I hated for years. Can I cry over getting old now?
Oh definitely. We've had the opposite problem. We can't eat bananas anymore. They give us heartburn!
