Quote of the Week: Mall is a Mueseum

We actually talked to one of our neighbors this week. Amazing since we haven't talked to the guy in like 2 years. Actually, he came over to meet the little one. He had no idea that we were expecting. The only reason he knew anything was because my mother-in-law put a balloon on our mailbox the day she was born. (Of course, I made her immediately take it down. I'm such a party pooper. But the hospital doesn't recommend doing that anymore.)

Anyway, Frank (the neighbor) was talking about taking little one shopping. Obviously, he doesn't know me and how much I hate to shop. When I protested, he had the following quote:

"Think of a mall as a museum of the 21st century. Where you can gawk at the latest styles and watch people."

An interesting thought. Although I doubt it will get me to the mail more.

On a loosely related note, I came up with a Sniglet(tm) a couple of years ago that I've managed to get a couple of people to use in casual conversation:

Malking: The act of slowly driving behind people coming out of a mall in the hopes of getting their parking spot as they leave.

Its interesting what you see at the mall, airports, and everywhere when you don't worry about where you are and just look at those around you.
