Welcome, 2007: The Year of Bond, James Bond

I didn't immediately notice the correlation between the year and Britain's most famous spy, until I heard the slogan for First Night -- License to Thrill. Kind of corny. But since I married into a family of Bond aficionados (needless to say we love Spike's marathons), I had to smile.

As 2007 approaches, I can't say that I am sorry to see 2006 go. As with every year, there have been some good memories and some bad memories. Since I am a control freak, I don't take disappointment well.

But as the year draws to a close, I would rather focus on what went well in 2006:
  • We travelled to Niagara Falls and Yellowstone. Both amazing places!!!

View of the Lower Falls in the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone:

  • We got to see Brian's entire family in Michigan, which means that I have now meet all of Brian's family . . . and as an added bonus, we have a great RV story to tell for years to come.

  • I got to visit with my cousins (who I haven't seen since we got married), their adorable little girl, and my aunt and uncle.

  • We got to spend lots of time with good, good friends.

The first half of next year promises to be busy! Brian is turning the big 30; we have a couple of weddings to celebrate; and my brother is graduating from high school.

As for resolutions, I am still working on those. Maybe tomorrow. We shall see. My track record with resolutions isn't that great. For now, out with the old and in with the new, I say!

Here is wishing you and your loved ones a very happy 2007!!!!!
