The Rules of March Madness

It's March, and you know what that means. Say good-bye to all of your basketball loving friends. They'll be back in April.

Now, I will admit that most of the year I am not a big basketball fan. I might watch some games, but I get so tired of the last minute lasting an hour because of all the fouls.

But when March Madness hits, I catch the fever every year. I will watch any game -- doesn't matter who is playing. And of course, I have rules about who I will root for.

1. NCSU -- No explanation needed. :-)

2. The other 3 ACC NC schools: Wake, Duke, UNC -- Some people might think I am not a true State fan by rooting for Duke and UNC, but hey, anything that makes the state of North Carolina look good is okay by me.

3. Any NC school, such as UNCW

4. Any ACC school -- even though I still have a hard time rooting for FSU or Boston College in any sport.

5. Any Florida school

6. Any Michigan school -- I do have to live with Brian after all.

7. Schools of friends, such as OU or Washington State

If the game that I am watching doesn't meet any of this criteria, then I just go with whomever I like that day, but there are a few schools (like Ohio State) that I just can't root for.

Also if we are talking the NCAA tourney, I will NOT root for the Cinderella team. I don't want anyone usurping State's 1983 win. That was just pure magic. Too bad I wasn't a State fan back then.

As you can see, as with everything else in my life, I make this as complicated as possible. Poor Brian. ;-)
