Kudos to Netflix for changing their minds about abandoning profiles. Or maybe I should say kudos to the people for forcing Netflix to change their minds.
That was the most insane idea that I have heard about in a long time. Several weeks ago Netflix announced that profiles would no longer be available starting Sept 1. The company was recommending that you merge your profiles as soon as possible to avoid losing any movies in your queue.
Brian and I were shocked at this announcement because we love our profiles and we know other people do too. Profiles are one of the big selling features of the Netflix program. For our account, Brian has a profile and I have a profile. (Cause believe me we don't always like the same movies. ;-) If they got rid of the profiles, we weren't going to create two separate Netflix accounts. Plus, since there was no way to merge profiles (and each of us have like 200 movies in our profile), one of us was just going to lose everything that we had.
Netflix must have received a ton of complaints about this idea. I'm sure many customers (such as ourselves) threatened to drop Netflix. Goodness knows money talks.
Now, if only we could get our politicians to change their minds as easily . . .

I don't have NetFlix, but the idea of separate profiles sounds really cool. Glad they announced it first instead of just making the change. Now if everyone did things that way!
I didn't even know they did the separate profile thing, much less that they were going to cancel it. Course, it is just me using it (the dogs and cats just put their movies on my list)...
