It's that time of year when everyone is getting itchy for the holidays. I equate it to being a senior in high school and counting down to graduation day. This has been a stressful year for everyone at work. And it doesn't help that our two biggest deadlines are before the holidays.
By Nov 19, I have three docs that have to be final. Fortunately, two of those docs should be done . . . if I don't get any more requests to update the doc. The third doc requires cooperation from about 50 people, so you know that's going well.
Right after that, I have to finalize one book and send another book out for tech review.
No wonder we are anxious for the holiday. I even saw a Christmas tree in my co-workers' office this morning!!!!

I know this gets said by everyone, every year but Christmas just keeps getting pushed earlier and earlier by stores. I went to K-Mart to buy some toy guns for my Halloween costume and they already had the full Christmas spread in effect. I couldn't believe it. This 'push' that happens actually makes me feel that Christmas is so commercial that it loses more value each year to me. I'm just an old coot I guess. I'm a firm believer in no Christmas (anything) until after Thanksgiving.
Good luck with the deadlines!
I hate how Thanksgiving is now overlooked and isn't even a holiday anymore because all people care about is Christmas. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday! Its the only time you can eat whatever you want and not feel bad about it.
The way the economy is I don't even want anything for Christmas. Bah humbug!
