We're Not Offended

Many parents get offended when you compare your pet's behavior to their child. We aren't those people. To us, Monty and Zoey are our children; they just happen to be a different species (and can be left home alone without a babysitter).

Here are some reasons why pets are children:

* You have to potty train them (although I think potty training cats is easier, which is why I don't have a dog).
* You have to clean up their poop. And honestly, I think cat poop bothers me more. At least Monty's.
* You have to take them to the doctor and those bills add up!
* You have to feed them.
* They don't like their routine disrupted.
* You love them.

I wish we had more time to give Monty and Zoey right now. They probably feel like second class citizens, but we love them even if we can't devote every second to them.

You forgot to add:

- You hurt when they hurt.
- You suffer when they suffer.
- They have an amazing ability to generate instant forgivness right after they jump up and down on your last nerve.

Like I've said before, just because we didn't birth them doesn't make them any less ours.

Oh those are very good additions.
