It's the Little Things

I swear. Sometimes the smallest things will drive you crazy. For example, this weekend we went to visit my Dad. I was completely thrown off by his toilet paper. When I lived at home, the toilet paper roll was always placed in the holder so that the paper came from the bottom of the role. In Brian's family, the toilet paper comes from the top of the roll, so naturally, I adapted to Brian's way. Now, when I am forced to go back to the other way, I'm completely thrown off. Toilet paper seems so small, yet, it was driving me batty! I wonder what the placement of your toilet paper says about you? Are you an upper or a bottomer?

Ever since I've been in this job, I've noticed more and more that I have to catch myself from correcting people's grammer. I hate it when someone corrects my grammer, so I really try not to say anything when someone says "You painted the shed really good." But inside, I feel like someone is taking fingernails to the blackboard. (Ah, blackboards. Remember those in the old days . . .) Man, I'm such a snob.

I'm an upper. Always have been. Can't STAND for the paper to come from the bottom of the roll. And you're right, those "painted really good" comments are excruciating.

Yannick & I had that issue too. I don't (well, didn't) really care, but he's a very strong upper.
The part I don't understand is why he couldn't just switch it around if he didn't like how I'd installed it -- but no, he had to make sure I switched how I installed the roll. I'm over it, though. That was one of the 1st year spats...
